Poor February never deserved to be so maligned. Being in some ways the darkest and somewhat gloomiest month of the year, it at least had the good grace to keep itself short. 

What fascinates me about animals is how much is it possible to learn to understand them, and yet even then, once you think you have learned, they do something that takes you completely by surprise.

Heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the angel from Tidworth who not only rescued our German Shepherd, Tadhg, from the A360 miles from home in the pitch black dark last night, but also spent half an hour searching on foot for our house with him tied to a piece of string.

Anyone want to swap homes? This one comes complete with sleepless nights, noisy local kids who kick footballs against the house at 11pm and have all night camping parties in the field behind. Otherwise idyllic.

Today I worked with an ex-riding school pony with a phobia of hills. Normally it wouldn't be a problem, but he's living in the Welsh mountains.
